What is your book about?

Web Content Rx, a Quick and Handy Guide for Writers, Webmasters, Ebayers, and Business People shows you how to create content for the Web, for your social networking campaign, for selling, podcasting, and how to use the Web to your best advantage. Further, it discusses blogging, podcasting, eMail, Search Engines, Communication, user generated content, a foolproof back up system, Web design, HTML, how to create an unspammable email for your Website, and more. It?s a Top 5 Business Title in Leadership Books at The Washington Post, published by Career Press, sold worldwide, and marketed by SkillSoft 24?7.

What inspired you to write your book?

I found a demonstrated need for people to be able to create high quality Web content for social networking, their Website, advertising, sales, and marketing. That need grows every day as social networking and business needs continue to grow.

How did you come to do what you?re doing today?

I began by developing Websites in 2007, and did that for a several years. However, toward the middle of 2010, I found that I missed people and so migrated the business from Web development to writing Web content and social networking. I had been writing for many years, so it was natural for me to write for the Web and for social networking. Now I write, speak, and present seminars on writing for the online world. The intersection of my technical, writing, social networking, and speaking skills allow me to present well rounded programs that touch each of these most necessary topics.

Can you describe a typical day in your life?

First is coffee. Then a short commute to my home office. I write my daily blog post, then work on a book, do online research and read a couple news sites. After lunch, is email, research, and LinkedIn Groups. Also, clients have questions and needs, and whenever they call things stop, so not every day goes smoothly.

What do you most enjoy about what you do?

I most enjoy public speaking. Just love being in front of a group, it?s the most relaxing thing in the world. Of course, I am super prepared for everything from computer failure to an electric outage, including notes on paper because no matter what happens people expect their program to go on. As they should.

Are there any people and/or books that have inspired you along your journey?

My father as he ran his own business, I never knew how hard that is until I started my own.

Can you share some business tips for our readers?

Yes, anyone can go into business, but staying in business is another thing. The more you take on, the less time you will have to spend on making the business successful. Time spent being your own Webmaster, accountant, janitor can hurt your chances for success. So, be careful what you take on. It is often far more cost effective to leave yourself free to grow the business.

Can you share something that people might be surprised to learn about you?

Sure can, I?ve published a short dark fictional story. The story?s title is ?Shift World? and it?s doing pretty well. You can read it at Novel Endeavors, http://www.novelendeavors.com/index.php?p=3_2. It?s also been published at Dark Planet and sffworld. Writing fiction is terrific. One of my projects is book length historical fiction titled, ?Attila Must Die.? It?s scheduled to be completed in late 2013.
